Justice that Works envisions an end to mass incarceration in Arizona. We reject the notions that some people are disposable and that police or prisons create safety.

A New System is Possible

The first step in abolition is re imagining our society. We take this step seriously. One of the ways in which we do this work is through the press, television, and social media.

Another step toward abolition is shifting power and accountability for police. We know that the legal system and internal accountability of police departments rarely hold officers accountable for the violence they inflict on communities. One way to shift this dynamic is to actively engage in Copwatching. Copwatch is typically undertaken by autonomous community groups seeking to observe and document police violence and brutality.
